Valentine's Day 2008 : I had to work until 7pm on Valentine's day this year and when I came home I was very pleasantly surprised! Chad greeted me at the door with a beautiful bouquet of tulips! And then Chad surprised me with a three course meal! :) I see a beautiful salad he has made for me on the table! This isn't just lettuce and tomatoes, mind you. He put in grapes, yellow peppers, avocados, apples, and pears. YUMMY! Course two: chicken stuffed with delicious cheese and wrapped in bacon with a side of couscous. Of course there was martinelli sparkling cider. It was very delicious! And for desert a moist German chocolate cake. I felt very special this valentines day!!! My hubby was very thoughtful! I sure love him!

Christmas 2007 : This Christmas we went to AZ with my side of the family: the Manwarings. We met my brothers, their wives, and kids there and had a great time! Of course, being flu season, we all got sick (minus Chad and Ruth and Quincy) and so at any one time a couple of family members were miserable. But overall, it was a great Christmas! We ate yummy food, had fun playing Dance Dance Revolution, put together a puzzle, spent hours chatting, made Christmas stockings, listened to my dad play his Saxophone (first time in years!), and just enjoyed being together.

Thanksgiving 2007 : This year for Thanksgiving Chad and I returned to the Bay Area to visit the Packards. It was a wonderful week! We spent a few days at the beach and enjoyed watching movies and playing with our nephew and nieces. For Thanksgiving I made my mom's famous orange rolls and they were a hit! I loved spending a week sleeping in, relaxing, and spending time with family and friends.

Easter 2007 : This Easter Chad and I went to SLC to spend it with Ruth, Jotham, and Mason. My friend Robin was in town and came as well! We had such a great time! RUth made a killer dinner with yummy steaks (grilled by Jotham) delicious creamy potatoes, and a green bean salad. Let's not forget the Bars of Death for dessert! The highlight was definately watching Mason hunt for eggs, which Robin and I hid. Mason was so cute! He got a chocolate egg wrapped like a soccer ball and threw it on the ground and kicked it! We had to explain that it was not a real ball. He is the cutest!

Thanksgiving 2006 : This Thanksgiving Chad and I spent it with my family (The manwaring side). My mom flew all of us to Williamsburg, VA to explore our nation's history. It was awesome! All of us kids, spouses, and next generation were present. We did however, miss the presence of my dad. However, it was a wonderful trip! I loved spending time with my brothers and their wives and my nephews! It was amazing to see all the sites of our nation's history including Jamestowne, Colonial Williamsburg, and Yorktown. I'm very proud and THANKFUL to be an American!

Trick-or-Treating with Mason, Halloween 2006 : This All Hallows Eve, I drove up to Salt Lake City to go Trick-or-Treating with my sweet Nephew Mason and Jotham and Ruth. My mom had made Mason a "digger" costume as Mason is infatuated with Bob the builder and diggers. He was soo cute! He had the best costume of all the kids we saw at the Trunk-or-Treat...in my biased opinion. :) Mason was adorable trick-or-treating! Jotham and Ruth would help him up to the door, ring the doorbell and leave him on the doorstep as they waited at the bottom of the stairs. when the owner of the house would open the door, Mason in his cute little shy voice would say, "Trick-or-treatin." And he would hold up his pumpkin for candy. Then he would say, "thank you." And would try to hobble down the steps in his digger costume and onto the next house! As night wore on, Jotham started carring Mason on his head cuz Mason's little legs were getting tired. When Mason came across a pile of dirt on a sidewalk, he leaned over and put his scoop down and said, "buildin!" It was so fun to participate in Mason's first "real" Trick-or-treat experience! I can't describe how adorable he was in his digger costume!

Halloween 2006 : This Halloween season, Chad, Jotham, Ruth, and I got in the spirit by carving pumpkins with our new Dremels (courtesy of Mom)! It was a fun time! Chad and I made a cat out of our pumpkin and Jotham and ruth made a pirate skeleton (crazy detailed and took forever!). Jotham cracked us all up by putting on surgical attire and bring out a scalpel to attack the pumpkin. This stems from a childhood of aversion to yucky sticky slimy stuff. It was quite entertaining. In the end, Jotham gave up on his pumpkin and Ruth was left to finish the job. She did a great job! When our pumpkins were done we took them outside and lit them. We woke poor Mason up to show off our Jack-O-Lanterns. He was soo cute and tired! It was a fun night.

Fourth of July 2006 : This fourth of July we spent with Ruth, Jotham and Mason. Dan, Chad's law school friend and fellow BAR study buddy came too. Unfortunately it was a bit rainy outside but that didn't stop us from lighting fireworks, BBQing and having a good time!

Labor Day Weekend at Liberty Park, 2006 : Chad and I went with Jotham, Ruth, and Mason to Liberty Park in Salt Lake City for a relaxing day. It was great! Ruth and I brought our books while the boys played frisbee and watched Mason. Ruth and I didn't get much reading done though as we chatted it up! Jotham and Chad took Mason to this cool pond thing for kids to play in and then Ruth and I took Mason on some Carnival rides. The day was beautiful! A great relaxing way to end Summer and prepare ourselves for school to start!

Memorial Day weekend 2005 : This was a busy weekend for us! First of all, Amy got married, as you can see in my "events" gallery. My mom came out for the weekend and we had a great time together, even though it was not exactly relaxing. On Sunday we went to Carnival in San Fran. It was fun but we quickly learned that people's real colors come out when they are in crowds! As my mom got sweared at and my friend Robin got pinched! Then, we headed to the beach to meet up with the rest of the Packard family who were in town for the wedding. There, we ate good food, went on walks, and had good conversations. A central delight was the new baby, Iliana, the daughter of Maria and Greg Serrata. It was a very eventful and wonderful weekend!

Halloween 2004 : This year we tried to get in the Halloween spirit by carving pumkins. I also got a lot of candy for trick-o-treaters and waited the whole night for them to come! But alas, only two trick-o-treaters visited our house. I was disapointed. But carving pumpkins was fun!
